Served in the United States Army in the Pacific during World War II. He was with the Minnesota 163rd Military Police Company.

Nils was a horticulturist and assistant professor at the North Central Station in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
Nils received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from University of Minnesota and a Masters Degree from University of Minnesota.
Mr. Grimsbo had been a resident of this community since 1946. He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, the VFW and the American Legion in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
After his army service, Nils worked for the Arrowhead Cannery from 1946-1947 and was a veterans' agricultural instructor with School District #318 from 1947-1953. He joined the North Central staff as an instructor in the fall of 1953 and became an assistant professor in 1967.
Survivors are his wife, Ella; a son, Lee; a daughter, Barbara; father, Bendik Grimsbo; four brothers, Daniel, Peter, Olaf, and John; seven sisters, Mrs. Harley Will, Mrs. James Robinson, Mrs. Torleif, Mrs. Glen Nordstrom, Mrs. Willard Lofgren, Mrs. Clarence Vann, and Mrs. Allan Lund.
Nils died at his Grand Rapids, Minnesota home and is buried in Harris Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot 1.14.3.x)
