Gene grew up and attended school in Cohasset and Grand Rapids, Minnesota.

In 1967, he married Sherry Watkins at Kelso, Washington. He worked at Simons Trucking and later at Blandex Wood Products.

Gene was a member of Ponti-Peterson Post #1720 of Grand Rapids.

Preceding him in death were a son, William; his parents Henry and Mary Gould, and two brothers, Bud and Jack.

He is survived by his wife, Sherry; two daughters, Kiwanda Frisby and Jennifer Gould; three sons, Keith, Brad, and Brian; three brothers, Robert "Butch", Richard "Tom", and Jerry; three sisters, Violet Hauser, Marilyn Doree, and Dorothy Mickle; and twelve grandchildren.

Gene died at Coquille, Oregon and is buried in Itasca Calvary Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot C-C-29-0-3)
