    Olaf grew up in Boy Island, (Boy River?) Minnesota and attended the Chippewa and Norwegian School up to eighth grade.

    He owned a hotel and garage in Bena, Minnesota and after being discharged in 1945, he returned to Boy River, Minnesota, married, and opened a grocery store. He had several businesses and worked as a carpenter throughout the United States and in Greenland.

    Olaf is survived by a special friend, Frances Johnson; one son, Tony; two daughters, Terri Shelton and Tina Bellis; and eight granddaughters.

    Olaf died at Itasca Medical Center in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in Itasca Calvary Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot C-A-19-15)
