Olivemae Black has just completed her medical technician course at Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., and has been assigned to the Bushnell General hospital at Brigham, Utah. Pvt. Black is in the Purple Heart Division of the WACs. The Bushnell hospital cares exclusively for amputation cases, but despite their injuries, their morale is of the highest, Pvt. Black states. Pvt. Black is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elias Black of LaPrairie. She is a graduate of Greenway high school in Coleraine and before enlisting was employed in Grand Rapids with the Farm Bureau Service.

    Olivemae Black married Robert Gebhart on September 8,1946 in Riverside, California.

    Olivemae was a member of the Evangelical Free Church and the Christian Women's Club. She enjoyed reading and was a "prayer warrior".

    Olivemae Gebhart died in Duluth, Minnesota and is buried in Harris Cemetery, Itasca County, Minnesota. She is survived by her children, Arlene (Glenn) Hyde, Rebecca Ahlstrand, Sam (Kathy) Gebhart, Patricia (Tom) Harrison, Ruth (Owen) Clarke, Rachel Gebhart, and Kristina (Brett) Crowe; brother, Donald Black; sister, Betty Knight; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents; granddaughter Candace Gebhart; brother, Bill Black; and sister, Audrey Porter.
