    Patrick Kavanagh married Mary Hinzmann in 1952 in Minnesota. He was employed eighteen years as a police officer for the village of Marble. He was also employed by School District No. 316, Coleraine, Minnesota, as a bus driver. He was a member of the Poppe-Smuk-Appleget Post 327 of Marble and Calumet and was a past commander, adjutant and historian of the post. In 1967 he was presented the American Legion Certificate of Achievement for outstanding service to his community. He was also active in Boy Scouting serving as committeeman for the local troop and as cubmaster. He was a member of the Greenway Council Knights of Columbus #5671 and belonged to the Minnesota Police and Peace Officers Association and was a trustee of American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO.

    Pat died in Marble, Minnesota and is buried in Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine, MN (Block 62). He is survived by his wife, Mary; five sons, Michael, Kevin, Paul, Peter and Patrick; three daughters, Margaret, Susan and Kathleen; his parents; and a brother, William Kavanagh.
