    Pat died in Grand Rapids after a prolonged illness relating to his military service during World War II. He is buried in Itasca Calvary Cemetery, Grand Rapids, Minnesota (CB1321). He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Russell McAlpine; a son, Michael; a sister, Mrs. John Mazzitelli; and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Peter A. Olson.
