    Richard grew up and attended school in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

    Following his discharge, he returned to Minneapolis where he worked for Land O'Lakes Creamery for 24 years, retiring in October, 1989. He moved to Grand Rapids, Minnesota that year.

    Preceding him in death were his parents, Alf and Jennie (Johnson) Gilsvik; his wife, Mavis, in 1961; a brother, Ken; and a sister, Dorothy Engle.

    Richard is survived by two daughters, Lynn Devine and Lorrie Allen; two sons, Thomas and Donald; two brothers, Robert and Jim; and six grandchildren.

    Richard died at Itasca Medical Center in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in Itasca Calvary Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot I-G-15-2-9)
