Robert came to Grand Rapids, Minnesota in 1951. He worked at the Danube Mine until his retirement in 1971.

He was an avid horseman and was also a member of the V.F.W. and Legion Club in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.

He is survived by his wife, Doris, and one daughter, Terrolee. There are several nieces and nephews.
