    Robert was the first to enlist from Bovey in World War I, when in May, 1917 he joined the Marines. He did convoy duty for a year in France.

    Robert moved to Bovey, Minnesota with his parents in 1912.
    After finishing school he was an employee of the Mesabai Railroad until the outbreak of the First World War.

    After the war, Robert returned to Bovey and was employed at the Danube Mine for several years. He left for the west (1940) fifteen years ago.

    Robert was a long-time employee of the Southern Pacific Railroad.

    Robert is survived by a son, Dudley and a sister, Mrs. A. R. (Agnes) Inman.

    Robert died in Spokane, Washington and is buried in Lakeview Cemetery at Coleraine, Minnesota.
