Robert Meyers settled in Michigan in 1948 and joined Consumers Power Company where he became assistant superintendent for power plant construction. After 20 years with the company, he joined Newkirk Electrical Contractors, retiring in 1986. Bob married Audrey O'Meara in 1989 in Manistee, Michigan. In 1989 they retired to their "home on the lake" that Bob had begun crafting in 1955. Bob was an avid pilot and skier as a young man. He also enjoyed photography, traveling, reading, attending the 330th Bomb Group reunions, and genealogy.
Bob died in Bear Creek Township, Emmet County, Michigan after an 11-year battle with the effects of a major stroke. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Audrey; a niece, Jean Williams; three grandnieces; two grandnephews; four great-grandnieces; and two great-grandnephews. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Irene Meyers; brother Gerhard "Bud" Meyers; sister, Genevieve "Scotty" Shively; and nieces Pat Reihle and Ann Leach.
