Robert grew up and attended school in Coleraine, Minnesota.
Robert married Carol Jackson in 1971 in St. Joseph, Missouri.
He worked for the Bemidji Federal Credit Union in the early 1970s, was office manager for two years at North Star Electric Cooperative in Baudette, Minnesota, office manager for five years at Fall River Electric Cooperative in Ashton, Idaho, and was general manager at McLean Electric Cooperative in Garrison, North Dakota for 17 years. He had been retired for the past four years.
Robert served on several boards while in Garrison, North Dakota and was a founding member of the Garrison Area Rural Water Association.
Robert is survived by his wife of 31 years, Carol Dippold; three daughters, Holly Dippold, Hilary Bartholomew, and Julie Dippold; a granddaughter, Katherine Bartholomew; a brother, Roy Dippold; and sisters, Yvonne Vik and Bette Luoma.
Preceding him in death was his brother, Gary "Mike" Dippold in 2001.
Robert died at his home in Magalia, California. Private family services were held. No burial information is available at this time.
