After serving in the United States Air Force, Robert returned to Grand Rapids, Minnesota and worked for Blandin Paper Company, since 1962. He was currently a systems information manager.
He was active in the Grand Rapids Amateur Hockey Association as the youth coordinator and also as a coach. He served for 17 years on the Blandin Credit Union Board and was a member of the Data Processing Management Association. He was active in the Midway Bowling League and was a member of the Pokegama Men's Golf League and the Blandin Golf League.
Preceded in death by his father, Robert Christy, Sr. and a sister, Phyllis; he is survived by his wife, Jean; two sons, Dale and Deron; his mother Elsie; three sisters, Marilyn Stark, Maryann Prigge, and Patricia Bastle; five brothers, Dennis "Chub", Charles, David, Richard, and Douglas; and two granddaughters.
Robert died at Itasca Medical Center in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in Itasca Calvary Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot I-A-11-20)
