    Robert J. Coatsworth married Hattie Kangas in 1946 in Trout Lake Township, Itasca County, Minnesota. They made their home in the Grand Rapids area. Bob worked as a mechanic for Itasca County's Road and Bridge Department. He was a talented craftsman who loved spending time in his garage tinkering with projects, wood working, and building a variety of different things. His yard looked like a park.

    Bob died in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine, Minnesota (Block 35, Lot 11). He is survived by his five children: Bob (Janny) Coatsworth, Don (Marianne) Coatsworth, Marlys Snell, Sivia Brownell-Price, and Beverly Lee; a sister, Martha Brainerd; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hattie, in 2011; an infant daughter, Kathleen; his parents; a grandson, Elijah Barsness; a sister, Margaret Kangas; a brother, Wesley Grant; and three sons-in-law: Mike Snell, Gary Brownell, and Jerry Price.
