After his military duty, Roger returned to Pelican Rapids, Minnesota and worked for West Central Turkeys, Inc. from 1981 to 2003.

On December 18, 1982, Roger was united in marriage with Lisa Wilkinson. Roger and Lisa were divorced in 1989.

In 2003, Roger moved to Keewatin, Minnesota. Recently Roger returned to Pelican Rapids moving in with his daughter to spend time with his family.

Roger enjoyed fishing and listening and singing to various types of music. He will be remembered for having a good sense of humor.

Roger is survived by his daughter, Natasha (Aaron) Isaman; four granddaughters; his mother, Myrtle; brothers, Dwayne, Rick, and Dale; a sister, Bonnie (Vern) Syverson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley; brother, Allen; and a sister, Connie Herschbach.

Roger died at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, North Dakota and is buried in Tonseth Lutheran Cemetery in Erhard, Minnesota.
