Roger married Charlotte Miller on September 2, 1972. After military service he attended Kirkwood College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, receiving his degree as an orthopedic physicians assistant.
In 1976, the family moved to the Virginia, Minnesota area where he was employed at the East Range Clinic for 19 years. He was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, the Minnesota Society of Orthopedic Physicians Assistants, and the American Society of Orthopedic Physicians Assistants.
Preceded in death by his father, John in 1974; he is survived by hiw wife, Charlotte; one son, John, a daughter, Tina; his mother, Hertha; two brothers, Larry and Edward; three sisters, Janet Warner, Judy Doki, and Sandra Johnson; and one grandson.
Buried in Itasca Calvary Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot I-G-08-2-6)
