    In 1937, Roy moved to Effie, Minnesota where he worked as a trucker and logger. In 1947, he began employment with Mando Paper Company, now Boise Cascade, as a checker and walking boss. He then worked as a timber cruiser, scaler and finally as a Boise Cascade forester in the Effie area until he retired in 1980.

    Roy was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1764 Bigfork, a member of the Boise Cascade Retirement Club, and a past member of the Northern Itasca Hospital Board.

    Preceded in death by his wife, Geneva (Harrington) Walls, in 1988; he is survived by two sons, Dean and Roger; two daughters, Sandy Royalty and Barbara Preble; a special friend, Florence Anderson; four sisters, Doris Phelps, Evelyn Garonette, Virginia Lund, and Lorraine Gustafson; and two brothers, Lyle and Dale.

    Roy died at Northern Itasca Health Care Center in Bigfork, Minnesota. He is buried in Bigfork Cemetery at Bigfork, Minnesota. (Third Addition, Block 44)
