    Roy enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving in Korea and Japan. He was disabled while in the service as the result of a traffic accident in 1959.

    Roy was a baptized and confirmed member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and volunteered at the Leisure Hills Care Center in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, bringing much happiness to many area senior citizens.

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Bertha (Phillips) Erven and two brothers, Alvin and Vernie.

    Roy is survived by three sisters, Elberta Steckman, Ruth Brunetta, and Dianne Mumm; a brother, Terry; and many nieces and nephews.

    Roy died in his home in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in Itasca Calvary Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot I-A-09-3-0)
