Roy moved to Warba, Minnesota in 1918 where he grew up and attended school.
He lived most of his life in Warba, until 1989 when he moved to Grand Rapids, Minnesota. Physical disabilities made it necessary for Roy to move in with his sister, Mildred, in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
He was the classic big brother, mainstay of the family. Roy always equipped himself with a supply of anecdotes and funny stories. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and snowmobiling. Roy was a generous man and loved when family joined him on a snowmobile ride down the Swan River with a hot dog cook out on the ice.
Roy was a farmer, lumberman and miner. He worked for Island Farm Creamery, then the Cleveland Cliffs Mining Company for 26 years, retiring in 1977.
Roy is survived by three sisters, Mildred Butler, Carmen Anderson; and Lucille Trogstsad; and a brother, Herbert.
Roy died at Itasca Medical Center in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in Warba-Feeley Cemetery in Warba, Minnesota.
