Roy was a lifelong resident of the Grand Rapids and Cohasset, Minnesota area.
Roy was united in marriage to Dorothy Roquet on October 20, 1946.
He owned and operated Roy and Dot's Restaurant in Cohasset, Minnesota for many years and also delivered the Christmas Spirit as "Santa" to the community for nearly thirty years. He was a true "Christmas Angel." He was a member of St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Cohasset, Minnesota and also was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
Roy is survived by his wife, Dorothy "Dot"; a daughter, Laurie (Mark) Avenson; two sons, Randy (Norma) and Rick (Nyna); two sisters, Donna (Albert) Doty and Maxine (Harley) Kiger; a brother, Terry (Josie); and two grandchildren, Melinda and Eric.
Preceding him in death was a daughter, Linda, in 1949.
Roy died at Itasca Medical Center and is buried in Wildwood Cemetery at Cohasset, Minnesota. (Plot c42e42)
