    Russel was united in marriage to Ann Eddy on October 4, 1947 in Newtonville, Massachusetts. Russel and Ann moved to the Grand Rapids, Minnesota area in 1951. He was employed as a truck driver with West Hill Mine and Viking Oil, and later owned and operated Krook's Service Station for seven years. Russel enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, gardening, and most of all being with his family.

    He was a past member of the American Legion, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and also the United Methodist Church, all of Grand Rapids, Minnesota.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Archie and Orville; and one sister, Lucille Draxten.

    He is survived by his wife, Ann; four daughters, Marcia (Randy) Brennan, Julie (Clint Knops) Krook, Rebecca (Frank) Borchardt, and Virginia Krook; two sons, Russel, Jr. (Wendy) and Wallace (Kathy Hupila); three brothers, John (Lois), Leonard (Dolores), and Arlen (Doris); thirteen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren,
