Scotty grew up in Splithand Township in Itasca County and attended schools in Splithand and Wendigo.
He worked for 41 years for the Pepsi Bottling Company and retired in 1995 in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
Scotty was life member of the American Legion and the Fraternal Order of Eagles, all in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
In addition to his parents, Scotty was preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Fontaine; and five brothers, Allen, Wayne, Robert, William, and Joseph.
He is survived by his wife, Janet; children, Diane Burt, Sharon (James)
Voltz, Linda Hauser, Calvin Burt; stepchildren, Edward Birch, Robin (Douglas) Sax, Laureen (Donald) Curtiss, Kelly (William) Rondeau, Paul (Lisa) Ische; two sisters, Josephine Crowe and Shirley (Andrew) Woodson; two brothers, Arnold (Betty) and Charles (Lori); thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
