Steve flew 35 missions as a bombardier over Europe in a B-17 that was named "Susan Kay" in honor of his daughter.

Steve had been a resident of Keewatin, Minnesota for many years.
Steve was employed by the Nashwauk-Keewatin School District until his retirement in 1981.
He served as a Keewatin Municipal Judge for many years and also as a volunteer fireman for the City of Keewatin.
Steve was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the VFW, the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans and the Elks.
Steve was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Jackovich) Grcevich, in 1984.
Survivors include his son, Gregory (Susan); his daughter, Susan (Tim) Holt; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Steve died at the Three Links Care Center in Northfield, Minnesota and is buried in Maple Hill Cemetery at Hibbing, Minnesota. (Block 5, Lot 12, Grave 6, W 1/2) No photo of grave marker is available at this time.
