    The family moved to Jesse Lake in Itasca County in 1926 and later to Deer River, Minnesota.

    Tim resided in Deer River, Minnesota following his return from active duty.

    Tim was in partnership with his brother, Herbert J. "Bill" DeWitt, Jr., owning and operating DeWitt's Cedar Yard in Deer River, Minnesota.

    Tim was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Deer River, Minnesota, a longtime member of the Deer River Volunteer Fire Department and Civil Defense director in Deer River, Minnesota.

    Tim is survived by his children, Timothy, Jr. (Darlene), Susan (Ray Guertin), and Scott (Margaret); three grandchildren; and a sister, Shirley (Robert) Goodwin.

    Preceding him in death were his loving wife, Lucille G. Yost, whom he married on October 12, 1946; his brother, Herbert J. "Bill" DeWitt, Jr.; and a sister, Jean M. Bischoff.

    Tim died at Homestead Nursing Home in Deer River, Minnesota and is buried in Pine Ridge Cemetery at Deer River, Minnesota.
