Picture: Keewatin VFW Claims Five Brothers
The Keewatin VFW post is probably one of the few in Minnesota that can lay claim to having five brothers as members. The Damjanovich brothers, left to right, are John, a Cleveland Cliffs employee; Mike, Morton welder; Tom, Perry-Carlz, crane operator; Nick, Perry-Carlz electrician, and George, an Aurora carpenter.
Following his service, Tom became a crane operator for National Steel Pellet Company of Keewatin, Minnesota, retiring in 1979.
Tom was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W., and Senior Citizens, all of Keewatin, Minnesota and was an avid fisherman.
Tom was preceded in death by his brothers Mike, John, Peter, and Nick and a sister, Mary.
He is survived by a brother George (Beverly); a sister Violet Bird; sisters-in law, Ardell Damjanovich and Doris Damjanovich; a brother-in law, Art Koski; and several nieces, nephews; and great nieces and nephews.
Tom died in the Community Memorial Hospital in Deer River, Minnesota and is buried in Maple Hill Cemetery at Hibbing, Minnesota. (Block 5, Lot 298, GR 1 E 1/2)
