Val was a member of the American Legion Post 60, American Legion Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, F.O.E. Aerie 2469, Moose Lodge 2023, and Itasca Medical Center Auxiliary.
Preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Mable Eggleston, a brother and a sister; Val is survived by her husband, Carl Theodore Flogstad; five sisters, Janice Gustafson, Virginia Groven, Vera Moriarty, Mable Beach, and Jean George; and two brothers, Van and Roy.
Val died at Itasca Medical Center in Grand Rapids, Minnesota from lung cancer and is buried in Round Lake Cemetery at Aitkin County, Minnesota. (Block 47, Lot 1, Grave E)
