Vernon was employed at Blandin Paper Company for 41 years, retiring in 1988.
He was a member of Salem Lutheran Brethren Church, Ponti-Peterson Post 1720 Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Blandin Quarter Century Club.
Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, Erling and Anna Grinde and a brother, Ervin.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey; one daughter, Terri Seeling; one son, Steven; one brother, Alvin; one sister, Esther Bonovich; and eight grandchildren.
Vernon died at Itasca Medical Center in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in Itasca Calvary Cemetery at Grand Rapids. (Plot I-D-25-0-6)
