Waldemar Monson married Leona Stead in 1937 in Minnesota and the couple lived in the Pengilly, Minnesota area since 1941. Waldemar worked for Rhude and Fryberger in Hibbing, Minnesota for 25 years before retiring in 1972
Waldemar died in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in Wildwood Cemetery, Cohasset, Minnesota (P26E21). He is survived by his wife, Leona; two daughters, Murial (Randall) Dunnette and Nancy (Gary) Flink; one brother, Anton Monson; one sister, Ann Erkkila; two step-brothers, Merlin Kelley and Walter Kelley; one step-sister, Codie Axtell; and three grandchildren.
