    Warren enlisted in the Navy before Pearl Harbor and was stationed on the Midway at Pearl Harbor at the time of the attack.


    Word has been received of the death of Warren Eugene Dexter, chief electrician's mate in the United States Navy. He was serving on the USS St. Lo and had been reported missing since October 25 when the ship was attacked by land based planes off Leyte. A half hour after the ship had been struck it went down and comrades of Dexter who survived the sinking said he was killed when he returned to his post the third time to rescue a shipmate.

    Warren is survived by his mother, Mrs. H. L. McIntosh; twin brothers, Dillon and Delbert, and Dennis. His father, Warren Dexter, a veteran of World War I was killed in a hunting accident in 1931.

    Warren's body was lost at sea. He died when the USS St. Lo sunk in the Battle of Leyte Gulf.
