    Wayne grew up in West Cohasset and Blackberry Township area. He attended schools in Grand Rapids, Minnesota.

    Following his discharge from the military, Wayne as united in marriage to Sadie Hill on December 11, 1953 in Superior, Wisconsin.

    Over the years, Wayne was employed by M.A. Hanna Mining, Butler Brothers and National Steel as a maintenance mechanic.

    Wayne was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2469 in Grand Rapids, where he served as president and received "Local Aerie Eagle of the Year" in 1973-1974 and "State Eagle of the Year" in 2003. He was also a member of the American Legion and VFW of Grand Rapids, Minnesota.

    Wayne enjoyed bowling, having served as league secretary for the Men's Bowling Association in Grand Rapids from the 1960s until 2005. He claimed the city championship in 1986 for singles and doubles, Minnesota State Eagles double champ with his son, Randy, in 2000 and was inducted into the Grand Rapids Bowling Hall of Fame in 1992.

    Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Sadie; and a brother, Kenny.

    Wayne is survived by two daughters, Brenda (Robin) Baker and Kathy (Dave) Danson; three sons, Donald W. (Davilee), Steve A. (Diana) and Randy L.; one brother, Larry (Barb); eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

    Wayne died at his home and is buried in Wildwood Cemetery at Cohasset, Minnesota.
