    Wilbur died Christmas Eve at the home of his parents where he lived. The Itasca County Coroner reported he had taken his own life by shooting himself with a rifle.

    Wilbur was a radio repairman operating his own shop.

    Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Iver Eckstrom; two brothers, Richard and Roy; three sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Irene) Juhlin, Mrs. Mike (Ruth) Rankinen, and Miss Gladys Eckstrom.

    Wilbur is buried in Nashwauk Cemetery at Nashwauk, Minnesota.
