    Wilbur died Christmas Eve at the home of his parents in Pengilly, Minnesota where he lived. The Itasca County Coroner reported he had taken his own life by shooting himself with a rifle.

    Wilbur was a radio repairman operating his own shop.

    Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Iver Eckstrom; two brothers, Richard and Roy; three sisters, Mrs. Clarence (Irene) Juhlin, Mrs. Mike (Ruth) Rankinen, and Miss Gladys Eckstrom.

    Wilbur is buried in Nashwauk Cemetery at Nashwauk, Minnesota.
