Wilfred LaDoux enlisted in the U.S. Army after graduation, serving with the 1st Cavalry Division in the South Pacific until his release from active duty in 1946. He returned to active duty with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and remained in the Air Force until his retirement in March 1974.

Wilfred LaDoux married Dorothy Lenoir Kelly in Minnesota in 1946.
He died in Albuquerque, New Mexico and is buried in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; three sisters, Evelyn Mollergren, Carol Simonson, and Ramona Nordin; a son, Thomas D. LaDoux; a daughter Debra LaDoux; and one granddaughter.
