Bill married Mary Thissen on September 6, 1947. They made their home in LaPrairie, Minnesota where they raised seven children.
Bill retired from United States Steel after working 42 years.
Bill was known as a legendary wood carver. He loved playing Texas Hold Em every Tuesday which was Senior Day in Deer River, Minnesota.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Mary of 67 years; son, Daniel; his parents, Herman and Elizabeth Green; brother, Clifford; and sister, Myrtle Carlson.
William is survived by sons, David (Barb), Richard "Dick" (Wendy), Douglas (Gerri), Donald (Marsha), Dana (Glenda); daughter, Debra Green; thirteen grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
Bill died at the Manor House in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in Itasca Calvary Cemetery at Grand Rapids. (Plot I-G-16-06)
