    William moved as a child to Nebraska and later came to Minnesota with his family, settling near Henriette, Minnesota.

    He was married in 1925 to Hazel Bennett in Oregon and following their wedding, the couple came to Duluth, Minnesota where he was employed by the United States Steel plant until his retirement. He lived in Duluth for 46 years.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel, in 1972 and had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Harold Balsiger, in Grand Rapids, Minnesota until his death.

    William was a member of the American Legion, serving as Commander of a Duluth Legion Post in Duluth, Minnesota. He was also a member of the Loyal Order of Moose.

    Survivors include his two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Beatrice) Balsiger and Mrs. Gerald (Shirley) Fields; two sons, Donald Paro and Charles Crom; two brothers Clifford and Carl; twelve grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

    William died at Itasca Memorial Hospital in Grand Rapids, Minnesota and is buried in Itasca Calvary Cemetery at Grand Rapids, Minnesota. (Plot I-E-39-0-3)
