William owned and operated Antler Lodge from 1968 to 1986 and worked for Southeast Pipeline Construction Company as office manager since 1968.

William is survived by his wife, Helen; two daughters, Mrs. Kevin (Kathy) Avery and Mrs. David (Cindy) Mallon; six sisters, Jessie E. Schielbie, Lillian Groves, Leona Donley, Frances Youngblood, Anna M. Polacek, and Lila Bergstrom; and three brothers, Thomas, Walter, and Harry.

William died at Northern Itasca Hospital in Bigfork, Minnesota and is buried in Balsam Cemetery in Itasca County, Minnesota.
