William was active in the Boy Scouts. He was a past member of the American Society of Training Development, past president of the Nashwauk PTA, a member of the Engineers Society of Northern Minnesota and was chairman of the Administration Board of United Methodist Church in Pengilly, Minnesota.

He lived the last nine years of his life in Pengilly and was employed by Butler Taconite until his retirement in April, 1981.

William is survived by his wife, Patricia; three sons, William W., Jr, Warren, and Thomas; one daughter, Mrs. Alison (Chris) Hrones; his mother, Aurel Clark; one sister, Mrs. Wallace (Aurel) McBride; and nine grandchildren.

William died at Central Mesabi Medical Center in Hibbing, Minnesota and is buried in Maple Hill Cemetery at Hibbing. (Maplehill-5-73-4- w 1/2)
